Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Musella
At the winery, the cultivated grapes are arranged in a ventilated room to be dried. Through this process, grapes lose up to 35% of their original weight; this concentrates sugars, aromatics and tannins. Gentle pressing takes place in January at a very low temperature followed by an extended maceration. The wine is aged for 24 months in French oak tonneau and then in larger barrels. After bottling, the wine is further aged for at least one year prior to being released to market.
With the biodynamic method, agriculture is in tune with nature, the land and humans. Fertilization, cultivation and breeding are implemented in ways that respect and promote the fertility and vitality of the soil and at the same time the typical qualities of plant and animal species. The deep connection with nature and the complete respect of its rhythms lead, with biodynamic agriculture, to abolish the use of synthetic mineral fertilizers and chemical pesticides, and to manage the soil following cosmic and lunar cycles.

Taste: |
A very classic style of Amarone della Valpolicella; full-bodied with lots of complex aromas. The fruit is dark and concentrated, black cherry, black berries, damson plum, raisins. The fruit quality is dried and there is a dried leaf and earth quality to the wine with an underlying presence of coffee, cocoa and mocha. A great expression of this style of wine from Veneto. |
