Beaune 1er Cru 'Les Epenottes'
Domaine Charles François et Fils, situated in Nantoux at the heart of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is comprised of 14 hectares of vines, 10 of which being Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and 4 hectares of Volnay, Pommard, Mersault, and Beaune. The estate has been passed down to Pascal and Pauline - Francois' son and granddaughter - giving rise to the house of Charles Père et Fille. As a result, new wines such as Chablis, Mâcon, Gevrey Chambertin, and Nuits-Saint-Georges are on offer.
Grapes are harvested manually from vines with an average age of 40 years. The grapes go through a long and gentle pressing process to preserve the purity of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10-12 months before its release. Approximately 4000 bottles are produced annually.
