Caroline Saint-Joseph Louis Chèze
A family property that started with just 1 Ha of Saint-Joseph and a few vines to rent, today the estate represents 45 Ha in the appellations of Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie and Vins de Pays.
At the Chèze estate the unique terroirs of each parcel are preserved through sustainable practices. Grapes are hand harvested and sorted to ensure only the very best are used. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are completed in barrels. The reds are aged in barrels made from upto 8 different coopers. This practise has created a signature style of reds.
Produced since the 1987 vintage, Cuvée Caroline embodies the power of Syrah with its bouquet of spices. The grapes are gathered from a plot of land situated above the slopes of Brèze at an altitude of 300 metres, benefiting from a south-facing sun exposure.
