Metodo Classico Blanc de Blancs

Azienda Agricola 499 was started with two friends, Gabriele Saffirio and Mario Andrion joined together to establish artisinal grape growing with a focus on regional Piedmont varieties. A small winery, their focus is on producing the best possible wines using minimal intervention techniques in the vineyard and in winemaking. The winery gets its name from the village of Camo that located one of the highest hills in the Langhe region at 499 meters above sea level. The cool climate and high altitude conditions allow 499 to achieve the perfect balance of phenolic and aromatic ripeness and natural acidity.
 
Chardonnay was planted in 2001, at an altitude 300 meters above sea level. Soils are lime stone and Guyot pruned. Grapes were hand harvested. After gentle pressing, the free run juice was fermented in Austria Oak barrels and part in stainless steel. The wine received zero dosage after disgorgment.
Taste: Dry on the palate with notes of orchard fruit and crisp refreshing acidity.
