Sangarida Godello ATTIS Bodegas Y Vinedos
Following the family tradition and history of ATTIS Bodega y Viñedos, the Fariña brothers have expanded their philosophy of working with authentic, artisanal, indigenous varieties. Together with their longtime collaborator, Jean-François Hébrard, in 2019 they embarked upon a new project in Bierzo that was born together with Robustiano Fariña’s daughter, Lía, who brings together her father’s roots in Rias Baixas and her mother’s in El Bierzo. The mythology of ATTIS is now transported to this neighboring wine region. Sangarida is a daring project, in style and image, that highlights ATTIS’ overflowing creativity that traversed the mountains of Leon to find its second home.
The Godello for Sangarida comes from 20-year-old vineyards situated in Campo, Molinaseca, and San Lorenzo del Bierzo. The vineyards sit at 600 M above sea level on slopes of the Montes Aquilianos. Here, the vines are trained on trellises and are planted to silty loam soils. Once the grapes have been hand-harvested, they are de-stemmed, pressed, and fermented in stainless steel with temperature control. The wine is then matured over the course of three months in stainless steel on its fine lees.

Taste: |
A fresh and lively Godello from El Bierzo characterized by tart grapefruit, lemon zest, Asian pear, and quince. There are distinct savory notes of saltine crackers due to the extended lees aging during production. The wine has a beautiful crushed rock and oyster shell minerality. The wine is dry, medium-bodied, and finishes very fresh. |
