Valpolicella Superiore Musella
Musella has its cellar and offices in a rural court of 1500 surrounded by green meadows bathed by the Fibbio stream, which was formerly used as a stable of the noble palace of the Estate. Today, in keeping with tradition and after a careful conservation restoration, it has been transformed into the cellar equipped with all the latest technologies. Each wine comes exclusively from this Estate that covers almost 400 hectares and that also offers a considerable differentiation in the composition of the soil, quality that allows us exciting comparisons.
Winter normally cold with a lot of snow in the mountains, regular spring with rains in April and May, but not very intense. Very dry and hot June, in the first week of July (8th) a strong hailstorm com- promises a large part of the Palazzina vineyard and part of the Monte del Drago vineyard, resulting in a loss of 50% of the total production. The summer proceeds regularly hot and with some refreshing rain until mid-August. The harvest takes place without rain throughout the month of September, excellent harvest, perfectly and extraordinarily healthy grapes. At the winery, the juice was macerated and fermented on the skins for 12-15 days at a closely moderated temperatures. Once malolactic fermentation was complete, the wine was transferred to large barrels and cement tanks to mature for 12 months before bottling.

Taste: |
A beautiful expression of Valpolicella, showing all the much- loved characteristics that Corvina and Corvinone bring to a blend. Dry, medium-bodied has nicely integrated tannins. The wine explodes with fresh red fruit; cherry, cranberry, red currant. There is an underlying red rose floral component and a hint of forest floor. The finish is long and refreshing. |
