Summer Wines for Days on the Dock

August is in full swing and we’re taking advantage of hot weather weekends; a great time to pack up the car and head toward the lake.

So grab a good book, cue up the perfect playlist, and settle into a lounge chair because we’ve got the rest covered.

We’ve put together a short list of our favourite wines for Days on the Dock; perfect for long sunny days spent by the water.

Who doesn’t love a frosty glass of white wine to beat the summer heat?

This wine is made 100% from the Cortese grape variety: showing lots of tart lemon and lime, crunchy green apple, and bosc pear.

Pair this wine with a fresh summer salad, with steamed shellfish, or enjoy it on its own.  This is the perfect waterside companion.

The ideal savory, summer red built for BBQ season.  Produced by Chateau Musar, a renowned winery from the Bekka Valley in Lebanon.

Single-vineyard Cinsault, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon from 30-year-old vines are used to produce this bottling. The wine shows tart and fresh red cherry, blackberry, and currants with savory dried herbs, and a touch of leather and spice.

This is ideal for beef or veggie burgers; so fire up the grill!

Long days filled with sunshine inevitably lead to beautiful sunsets and a slight chill that comes off the water. Add this wine to the mix and you’ve reached pure excellency.

An exemplary cool-climate Malbec; tart and ripe black cherry, blueberry, and boysenberry. Beyond the fruit are underlying notes of sweet tobacco, freshly turned earth, and cinnamon spice.

Enjoy with steak and grilled vegetables or simply sip on its own: this wine is fantastic if you’re craving a richer red by the end of the day.
