Bourgogne Chardonnay
Domaine Charles François et Fils, situated in Nantoux at the heart of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is comprised of 14 hectares of vines, 10 of which being Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and 4 hectares of Volnay, Pommard, Mersault, and Beaune. The estate has been passed down to Pascal and Pauline - Francois' son and granddaughter - giving rise to the house of Charles Père et Fille. As a result, new wines such as Chablis, Mâcon, Gevrey Chambertin, and Nuits-Saint-Georges are on offer.
Grapes are harvested manually from vines with an average age of 30 years. The grapes are gently pressed and the juice fermented with 35% whole cluster fermentation. The wine is then aged in French oak for 12 months before its release. Pascal and Pauline monitor the aginging of the wines cosely to ensure the end result wine has evolved to best express the region.

Notes of lemon curd, yellow apple and a touch of white peaches. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with good structure. The wine delivers a palate of fleshy fruit, minerality which speaks of the soils and a light saline-lemony finish. |
